Over the Formula One season that is under progress, McLaren has experienced an astonishing climb in the championship's standings. Red Bull Racing, the team currently holding the championship and the defending champions, has struggled to even make it on the podium after seeing a marked drop in performance. Over the past few seasons, a Red Bull driver has always been able to do this. Red Bull is only able to keep their lead in the constructors title at this precise time by only eight points separating them from their opponents.
Ferrari has become an unexpected competitor for the Constructors Championship in this tale involving McLaren and Red Bull. Currently second, just behind McLaren, the Italian squad and the British team just have a 31-point difference.

McLaren Team Principal Believes Ferrari Having In-form Is Both Good And Bad
Andrea Stella, the principal of the McLaren team, is of the opinion that the fact that Ferrari is rediscovering its form and battling for race victories is both useful and damaging to McLaren. This is owing to the fact that Ferrari being in good condition will allow a big number of cars to come in between McLaren and Red Bull, which has the consequence of delivering an advantage to McLaren. Because of this, McLaren will be able to amass a bigger amount of points than Red Bull.
As for the disadvantage, the fact that Ferrari is in top shape will also inspire McLaren to strive for race triumphs. Furthermore, if Ferrari wins a race, it will result in McLaren losing points, which will strengthen Ferrari's cause for the Constructors Championship.
Andrea Stella Gives His Opinion
I would like to lay a larger focus on the competitiveness of the vehicle. In terms of the race, I think there may be a misperception that the McLaren was by far the fastest vehicle. “I think Leclerc was as quick as the McLaren, as fast as Oscar in the first stint. Even in the second stint, he was behind the two McLarens and he could keep with the two McLarens.
I think Ferrari this weekend were as competitive as us, at least with Leclerc, which for us is bad news. It meant we couldn’t simply cruise in the race, we have to deal with them, and they did a fantastic job utilizing some of the disparity.
At the same time, it is fantastic news as it means we have additional cars that can take points away [from] Red Bull, so I feel that this is better news for us.
We need to make sure we exploit the potential that is there in the car, even if it means Ferrari will launch a very strong challenge for victory,” said Andrea Stella further explaining how the Ferrari situation could either be an advantage or a disadvantage for McLaren.
